Introduction >>
JYOTHIS college realizes that development and growth during college days do not occur in the class room alone. The college has a wide variety of student activities that help round out  a true education. These activities offer students an opportunity to grow in co- operation with others and extend selfless service to fellow human beings. These activities include are cultural, social, religious and artistic.
General Rules of the Association >>
1 Without discipline the working of a society is impossible, nor will there be any progress. The indiscipline of a small minority disrupts the life of an entire community.  To avoid this, a self imposed code of discipline, becomes necessary for the smooth functioning of the student community.
2 No meetings shall be arranged without the prior sanction of the principal.
3 No outsider shall be invited for any function without the prior sanction of the principal.
4 The funds of association being public money shall be spent carefully and economically . For journeys undertaken on behalf of the association only Bus fare shall be claimed.
5 The bills in connection with association will be paid from the office only if they are legitimate and certified by the proper authority.
6 In all matters concerning the association the decision of principal  shall be final.
Sports Club
For the conducting of intramural sports and games, Students will be divided into four houses. House captains are selected for each houses. Students participate in various sports events with enthusiasm and sportsman spirit. Campus has the facility to make use of tennis court, volley ball court and basket ball court in the multipurpose auditorium of the college. Indoor games such as carom board, chess board etc is played by students during their break time. Besides this, students can make use of the Health club at the centre.
Finearts and Club
Jyothis college always nuture blossoming young artists. Talent seeking programmes provide ample opportunity to bring out latent talent of the students. It also gives them opportunities to form various clubs such as dancers forum, singers forum, actors forum, readers forum and writers forum according to their tastes and talents.
         Fine Arts day of the Academic year 2008-2009 was celebrated on 18th October 2008. This day was inaugurated by Sri. Thankappan master, Chairman, Koodalmanikyam Dewasom Board, Irinjalakuda. A number of competitions and cultural programmes were arranged in two different stages and prizes were distributed to the outstanding performance.
Women Cell
Women’s cells conduct seminars, extension lectures, debates and speech competition with a special emphasis on women and their role in the present day society. The objectives of the cell are:-
1 To cultivate leadership skills in women.
2 To create awareness about the social problem faced by women and to work for the uplift of women.
3 To make women realize their equal responsibility in building a society
Activities of Women cell was inaugurated by Mrs. Jessy Jolly (Prof. Chemistry Dept., St.Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda). Another programme organized by the Women cell was the empowerment of women conducted by Ann Rose (Darsana Councelling Centre, St.Joseph’s College,  Irinjalakuda ).

         Jyothis college, with its intention of casting a powerful new generation was always appreciated by all in the town unlike other institution in the town we have a powerful , active woman’s organization in the college and our activities are also different we conducted three enlightening classes and a variety of other programmes
         The woman’s cell was inaugurated on 8th August 208 with an interesting class by Mrs. Jessy Jolly Professor of St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda. On women empowerment. Later on 21st November 2008, Sr. Anna Rose of Darshana Councilling Centre, Irinjalakuda, conducted an appreciable class on personality development which was a boot to our organization we have also conducted a class on Fericryl Fabric painting by Mrs.Meena Ravi Menon on 17th February 2009.
Women’s cell with its effective programmers going ahead towards its aim of women empowerment.
Karuna
Relief fund Karuna gives inspiration to the students to share social responsibility. It helps poor students education and less fortunate people of the society. Eye and Blood donation forum promote among students the willingness to donate Blood and Eye.  It encourages the students to share a part of their good fortunes with others and give to people who need more than them and create value on the world.
         The enlightened students and teachers of reputed Jyothis college of Irinjalakuda the Varadhanagalude Nadu (Land of God’s boons) joined hands on June 2009 and for oned karuna a gathering of kind-hearted students. The moment with its charity now stands on its high esteem. Though from each classes two students, control and co-ordinates the efforts, with the massine support of entire charismatic students community and utilizing their creative energies “Karuna”, conquered the human oninds.
         A team of hard working students under the leadership of saran II DC controls the activities of Karuna. By accepting charity as our motto and sacrifice our means , we are working heard to achieve our goals, by giving necessary financial aids to the poor girls of govt. Girls H.S.S Irinjalakuda. On 5th August 2008, we began our activities of the year. The very satisfied faces of them while accepting aids a boost to our future activities.
         The volunteers of Karuna visited Jeevakarunya Ashram of Kallettukara on 11th October 2008. A garden with full buds eager to bloom are growing under the protection of God almighty and by the financial assistance of well wishers .
         The golden arms of Karuna there in spread its light on Abhayabhavan of Porathussery. By experiencing their sad lives we realized that our lives are Gods boon and how we waste this precious life by indulging in silly wordly pleasures and lives a careless lazy life.
         The very human experience given by these visits intensified our desires for life. All this was achieved by the whole hearted support of entire students community and the whole hearted co-operation of staff representative Miss Shiny. We whole hearted thank you all and expecting your co-operation in future activities also thanking God almighty once again.
NSS (National Service Scheme)
It functions to promote a humanitarian outlook in our students. Discussions, debates seminars an talks are conducted to give orientation and awareness of NSS activities. Students involve in cleaning campaigns, socio-economic surveys, visiting of the houses of the aged, mentally retarded.
The Specific Objectives are :-
1 To work with and among the people.
2 To engage in non violent constructive social action.
3 To enhance their knowledge of themselves and community through a confrontation with reality.
4 To put their scholarship to practical use in mitigating at least some of the social problems.
5 To practice democratic leadership.
Membership : Membership in N.S.S. is voluntary and is strictly on selective basis. Each student is subject to its discipline and code of behavior.
Career Gudiance and Placement cell
Our Placement Cell organizes classes on mock interviews, resume preparation and in Communication English. This year the “Future General Life Insurance “ conducted a campus interview in November 2008 and selected 13 candidates from our College. We expect in the coming months some more institutions will turn up to our College for conducting Campus Interviews.
Students Council
The activities of our College are co-ordinated by Student Councils. It consists of Convener, Secretary, Captain and Vice Captain of each Club and the Class representatives.
